God is Love and is infinite says the Bible. He is omnipotent and because He is all power, there is no opposing power. Nothing Real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists counsels Jesus. If we actually accepted this whole heartedly, would there be anything more to do, to study, to strive for? No, because our experience would be that of our living, moving and having our very Being in God alone.

“Salvation is the recognition that the truth is true, and nothing else is true. This you have heard before, but may not yet accept both parts of it. Without the first, the second has no meaning. But without the second, is the first no longer true. Truth cannot have an opposite. This can not be too often said and thought about. For if what is not true is true as well as what is true, then part of truth is false. And truth has lost its meaning. Nothing but the truth is true, and what is false is false.” W-152.3.

If the Truth is actually true, where does fear come from? We learn in A Course in Miracles that fear is a defense against the Truth. Fear is the belief that while Truth may be true, error is also true. The existence of fear in our thought literally splits the mind in two, holding completely contradictory beliefs in the same place. Yet because Love and fear are opposites, they cannot be experienced simultaneously together, so if fear is present in our thought, this fear eclipses temporarily our recognition of the Truth that Jesus proved is always right here and now. In other words, our options are to be experiencing fear and its projected images, or Love and Love’s Creation.

“Dissociation is a distorted process of thinking whereby two systems of belief which cannot coexist are both maintained.  If they are brought together, their joint acceptance becomes impossible. But if one is kept in darkness from the other, their separation seems to keep them both alive and equal in their reality. Their joining thus becomes the source of fear, for if they meet, acceptance must be withdrawn from one of them. You cannot have them both, for each denies the other. Apart, this fact is lost from sight, for each in a separate place can be endowed with firm belief. Bring them together, and the fact of their complete incompatibility is instantly apparent. One will go, because the other is seen in the same place.” T-14.VII.4:3-10

Why are we so apt to give fear any acceptance at all? Physical sense testimony. Without the body’s eyes and ears constantly barraging us with fear and its images, would we defend the idea of fear? Without a body, could we know fear? Let’s ponder this for a moment. God is Spirit, and God is the only Creator. Therefore all of Creation is spiritual. We may find this almost impossible to accept because matter and the body that touches it, sees it, and experiences it constantly, as well as the emotions we seem to experience because of these images, produce the overwhelming sensory experience that defies us to try and deny it.

Have you considered where we would be if Jesus had not entered the picture 2000 years ago? We would continue to accept that matter is real along with all that comes with that belief, i.e. aging, sickness, lack and death. We would be forever lost within the maze of the ego “mind” without any hope of escape. Jesus’ demonstrations proved that what seems to be real matter is only illusion. He healed the sick, cast out demons and raised the dead all in direct opposition to what the ego and its matter claims to be the laws the govern us. What appeared as real lack of food was demonstrated to be only a belief and abundance was manifested. He walked on the waves, transported across the Sea of Galilea instantaneously, not to mention his resurrection and ascension. Without his perfect Love, we would still be believing what the body and its senses are reporting without any hope of or even knowledge that we have the option of awakening from what is merely a dream.

So what do we do with the body and its sensory reports? You bring the seeming problem to the Truth. All fear and its infinite variety of images are merely false beliefs we are entertaining as real. These are the dark shadows in our thought that block the light of Truth in our awareness. When brought to the Light, Truth, these false beliefs disappear. And when they are no longer in our thought, their counter-part projection goes with them. All “healing” is a revealing of the Truth in our consciousness and nothing more. There never is a real problem to begin with, only an illusion that requires an encounter with Truth.

Let’s go back to God. God knows what He Created so shouldn’t we be asking Him for the Truth? Who or what is it that attempts to inform the Mind of God that His Creation is less than perfect? Only the arrogance of the ego, which is nothing more than the suggestion that there could be something in addition to ALL. God is All. Period. Because God is perfect, God sends forth perfection. There is no imperfection, lack, darkness, error, fear, guilt, or separation in God. The knowledge of God is the Light of understanding that casts out darkness, which is another term for ignorance. Light/Understanding casts out darkness/ignorance. Love casts out fear. As we take any seeming problem to God understandingly, the problem must burn off and disappear and naturally and effortlessly as darkness gives place to Light.

“If God’s Will for you is complete peace and joy, unless you experience only this you must be refusing to acknowledge His Will. His Will does not vacillate, being changeless forever. When you are not at peace it can only be because you do not believe you are in Him. Yet He is All in all. His peace is complete, and you must be included in it. His laws govern you because they govern everything. You cannot exempt yourself from His laws, although you can disobey them. Yet if you do, and only if you do, you will feel lonely and helpless, because you are denying yourself everything.” T-8.IV.1

What recently helped me was to see that somewhere in my thinking there was still this belief in chance. That maybe God isn’t going to help me, or can’t help me, or that I don’t know enough to be helped. There was still a belief that there is a chance that God won’t come through for me. And in a flash, the thought came that there is no chance in God. God is 100%, full on, all the time, infinitely, in every direction, perfectly, powerfully, and that I exist within God, not outside of God asking God to do something for me. The one that doubts God or is hoping God will “come through” is not me. The one that believes that there is another source of real evil or sickness or lack that contends with God is not me either. I am not hoping or praying to a God outside of myself, but I am one with the Light of Truth already.

Because God cannot change, what we are in Truth can’t either. Because God is perfect and Created us in His image and likeness, we are perfect also. Because God is infinite all, we cannot be in a place where God is not. Because God is omnipotent, there is no power or presence that can reduce, alter, threaten or destroy what we are. There has never been a single instant where God was not being ALL. There was never a time where God stopped being all power, all Wisdom, all Presence, all Activity. There is no lapse, gap, void or vacuum in God. We live and move and have our being in God, always and in all ways.

God is. Now. All. Everywhere. Perfect. Complete. And he created you and me because Love delights in relationship and requires extension to be Love. God is knowing Itself through us, as us, right now. And because this is true, all there is to your true Identity is God being God, right now, right where you are, infinitely, with tremendous love and joy. You are God’s delight, His smile, His beloved child. As the perfect Parent, God forbids anything unlike God to exist. God governs us with His unfailing and perfect Love. It is impossible for you to fall away or outside of the All in all. It has never happened. As you draw close to God, all false beliefs must give themselves up just as darkness gives way to the Light. Because light and darkness cannot co-exist, the possibility of chance, percentages, and hope simply do not exist.

Because in God there is no chance, there is none in you.
