My name is Kelly Bunn. I am a flight attendant for Delta Airlines and a student in Karen McCune’s TTC. My assignment for session 11 was to apply the Key of Gratitude to the lesson of Sacred Space/ Presencing.

Here is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy!

Thank you,

Kelly Bunn

Good Afternoon! Welcome on board Specialness Airways!

My name is Ego and I’ll be your flight attendant today on Specialness Flight 777 — destination

I’ll be Happy When

The flight time is approximately your entire life.

Please direct your attention to me

Because, frankly,

That’s where I prefer all attention to be directed!

As the Ego Flight Attendant,

I have only one job —

To make sure you never arrive where you’re going!

Now, some of you may think you’re here for a peaceful flight.

That’s adorable!

My goal is to keep you in chaos — comparing seats.

“Why does she have a window seat?”

“Why does he get more legroom?”

“How come they got upgraded and I’m still back here in row 52 with my emotional baggage?”

Speaking of baggage, I’d like to remind you — here at Specialness Airways there is no limit to the amount you can bring onboard.

Past grievances? Bring them.

Childhood wounds? Absolutely!

Three decades of resentment toward your ex?

We’ll store that in the overhead compartment.

Fear of aging? Fear of death? Separation, guilt, blame?

We’ll gate check those & return them to you upon arrival.

In fact, if you begin feeling peaceful at any point during the flight…

I will personally return your baggage immediately!

Now, as a flight attendant, I spend a lot of time walking through the cabin,

And I’ve noticed something.

No matter where people are sitting,

No one seems peaceful.

First class complains about expectations.

Main cabin complains about first class.

The people with partners want space.

The people with space want partners.

The people with jobs want vacation.

The people on vacation check their work emails.

Honestly, from my perspective, other egos are doing excellent work! Keep it up!!!

Now — let’s talk turbulence.

I call it opportunity.

Someone reclines their seatback into your space!

Turbulence!

When I get to your row —

there is only chicken left.

Severe turbulence!

The captain says there will be a 30 minute delay…

Ladies & gentlemen, prepare for emotional impact!

I love delays!

Because while you’re waiting

I can whisper…

Something is wrong.

You’re behind.

You should be somewhere else.

You are a victim of Specialness Airways.

These are some of my greatest hits!

And then there are the safety instructions…

I know they say “put your own oxygen mask first”

I completely disagree!

Please feel free to roam around the cabin ensuring everyone else’s mask is in place.

Anything that distracts you from breathing.

Now, some of you may have noticed that despite all my hard work,

there are moments when I start losing control.

Maybe you’re sitting quietly.

Maybe you are present with the sky outside of your window.

Maybe you’re just… here.

And that makes me suspicious.

Because when you’re present,

quiet, still

Something worse happens.

Gratitude.

Oh, I can’t stand gratitude.

Because passengers start seeing each other as divine messengers.

Forgiveness & love start to flow.

The turbulence may still be there.

The flight may still be delayed.

But passengers are waking up from the dream.

The chaos I created seems to be a tiny mad idea!

That is when I disappear.

Where presence & gratitude meet, ego has nowhere to sit.

So before I leave.

One final announcement.

If you wish to remain a loyal customer of Specialness Airways

Please continue to seek & do not find your next destination.
